Aparna Vincent is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (India).
Aparna’s research interests and pedagogical practice broadly revolve around normative political theory, digital humanities, and environmental politics. Her research methodologies are anchored in the interpretative study of political discourses and practices.
Aparna holds a triple major in History, Economics and Political Science from Christ University Bangalore. She completed her Masters, MPhil and PhD in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad. Her PhD thesis (“Moral Panic and Civic Anger in two Anti-Corruption Protest Movements in India”) employed a modified moral panic framework based on theories of social construction to examine the visual as well as argumentative strategies adopted by two anti-corruption protest movements in India – the Bihar movement (1974–75) and the India Against Corruption agitation (2011–12) – in generating an atmosphere of panic and outrage.
